My illustrator keeps crashing.
It is evil.
I guess this is what you get when you download an illegal copy, use it for 2 months and then when you are down to your last 3 projects and the last 4 days before they are due and you are really really stressed out as is about getting them done - IT CRASHES EVERY 10 SECONDS....
OHHH I am PMSing and that combined with the illustrator crashing makes for a really horrible mood.

So I have now purchased the 100% REAL student version - only I did it online and it is Saturday and they have to verify that I am actually a student before I can download it so I will be lucky if I can get it on Monday........ (or even Tuesday)

AHHHHHHH!!!!! I'm thrilled I really am....

I went to a BAR last night with my buddies. I haven't gone out on Friday night in any regular sense of the word FOREVER!!!!! It was weird. I didn't like it at all. I used to enjoy it but I have turned in to an old woman. The music was horrible and loud, drunk guys stumbling around are totally unpleasant. I don't think I make a very good wingman for my single friends.

Penny and I have been watchingthe flight of the conchords. We LOVE it. If you have never seen it I recommend it HIGHLY. We owe Thyrza a big thanks for giving us a copy.

this stuff is fun... I want the eye necklace..

Happy Belated Easter.
We were away for the weekend and my sister somehow lives with dial up. I wasn't even going to try looking anything up.

She is living in Castlegar out on an acreage. It could be nice if it WASN'T SNOWING. None of us Vancouver types were prepared. We showed up in jean jackets and hoodies, no winter boots or mittens so we stayed inside most of the time.

Minou decided to spice things up a bit our first night there. Madelaine and her have NEVER gotten along. NEVER. But usually scraps are avoided. This time we weren't so lucky. Jenn went to pick up Minou and Madelaine lunged - just cause she wanted attention too. Minou of course freaked and nipped at her. This is when Jenn claims she pierced Madelaine's tongue. We have no actual proof of this. I can't help but wonder if Madelaine didn't pierce her own tongue as she always has it hanging out.
Only a face a mother could love
Well Madelaine retalliated and within a second she was on top of a screaming Minou. I grabbed Madelaine by the collar and pulled her up with Minou still in her mouth so the two of them were dangling. I was sooo scared my sweetie was dead except for the fact she was still screaming. Madelaine let go and I might have kicked her for good measure - I don't really remember I was in full on 'get minou back' mode.
I grabbed her and she continued screaming for a bit. But finally quieted down. She was just clinging to me so I couldn't even see what the injuries were. Everyone jumped up to look at her. She is lucky. She is fine. She could have lost and eye amoungst other things - she was pretty banged up on the one side with cuts in her neck and on her eyelid. This picture is from the next morning and the swelling around her eye was already gone and alot of the redness disappeared.
Minou's death wise part 3
So that was fun. Madelaine was kept on a leash in the house for the rest of the weekend and I wore Minou in a sling all day Saturday as she was totally freaked out. Birdie was pretty shaken too and kept going up to Minou to check her out.
My sister likes to blame Minou - and maybe she did instigate it but Madelaine shouldn't try and EAT HER. A simple warning shot back would suffice.
The rest of the weekend was fine. There was a few more dog fights - none of which involved Minou or Birdie.
There was lots of wii playing.
LOTS of eating. Although I am on a no caffiene no chocolate diet which is brutal over Easter... The dictator got his second birthday cake. (it was his birthday on the 17th)
Now it is time to get back to studying for my last two weeks of classes and exams.... EEPS. I am already procrastinating.

Hope everyone had a much less eventful vacation then us.

I am addicted....
absolutely addicted.... can't stop

Sunday, March 16, 2008

Angie was just here. We were playing Dance dance revolution and totally lost track of time. We were being LOUD and it was well past 11:00pm on a Sunday night - I am such an obnoxious neighbour. hee hee

We suck at it. Really really badly. But oh it was fun. and we were sweating!! It is hard. We can't get past level one - at all. It is sad really. We fail most songs. But we laughed the entire time.

The best was when during a fit of giggles in the middle of a song Angie just kind of stopped and said "I can't" in the saddest most defeated voice you ever heard.

If you ever want to feel like a white guy with absolutely no rhythm at all - play a few rounds of DDR. I think I am going to have to take it to my sister's for Easter - I have a feeling mom + bottle of wine + DDR = ENDLESS LAUGHTER.

Good times aside I am still not done with the play. They want yet another shirt for one of the actors - this will be his third shirt for this scene. I don't know what they think I am going to find - the man has had on every expensive shirt I could find in our color scheme. I am soooo over this show right now.

Crap I have the hiccups....

OH OH OH I made red velvet cupcakes today with the cream cheese icing. SOOOO GOOD. I don't make a pretty cupcake so no point in taking pictures. But very very tasty.

NEVER PUT SOAP IN YOUR EYE.

or both.
even in the shower with ample running water at your disposal.

my new deck of cards
This is what you can do during dress rehearsals!
Actually not dress rehearsal so much as tech rehearsal. They started doing a sound cue over and over and over. After looking at the two people on stage for 20 minutes there wasn't much else to do until they got to the next scene where they change their clothes...
I think tomorrow (actors are off today) I will have to bring some actual homework to do instead of just playing around....

help help

we get to have a 6x9 postcard printed. Of anything we want. 50 copies.
Only problem is I only have a week left to design it and it just happens to be this week when I am stuck in the theatre most days... so I need to finish ASAP.
I wanted to make it something useful but the only thing I could think of was my portfolio. I am SO over my portfolio these days. So over designing costumes for people who only do their best to make you miserable.
So I tried a bunch - even had the teacher look at it. But it bores me to death. I've been playing with those drawings for years.
So do I stick with the practical portfolio thing OR do I do something completely useless but way more fun - my puppies.
Which one do I get printed? Any other ideas?

1.option 1
2.option 2
3.option 3
4.option 4
5.option 5
6.another version
7.option gazillion billion
8.option 6
Oh first of all good news....

I am as normal and healthy as one can be with 20+ cysts in her boob. Finally had a doctor tell me I was ok in a brief message the other day. I don't know how one does self breast examinations with that many cysts but at least this week I am ok. (I won't get into what allergies are doing to me ok?) It is still yellow/purplish - 4 weeks later? that is nuts. But almost gone...

Had a stressful week at work. There is always someone who doesn't want things to go well so they cause a ruckus and get everyone else all upset. I basically got called into the principles office 3 days ago because nothing was finished yet. I still don't know why - our first dress isn't officially until Tuesday and guess what - I have everything today.... I hate theatre.

Finished my homework last night. It isn't very exciting this week but I'm on a deadline. I don't even get to go to class today because of our costume parade.

Assignment 6 Box

The girls are bored - I have been at work too much this week. I feel horrible. One more week and I am unemployed again. THANK GOD...

I am so funny

Have to share a little story from my class... My teacher sent us this email yesterday about how to place a UPC code in our project. He went on and on about it in class, I was surprised he was still going on about it in the email until I read the last paragraph.....

remember this about UPC's:

Don't mess with it. Don't colour it, scale it, cut it off or otherwise mangle in any way. Don't even look at it with bad intentions. The UPC must sit on a WHITE background; also give it at least a 1/8" white margin all around. Always handle your UPCs in this manner - this ensures that your UPC will read properly by the fancy Optical Readers that all retail stores employ.

Don't follow these UPC rules and one day you'll find yourself pasting replacement labels on 500,000 boxes in your mother-in-law's basement; a privilege for which you promised your undying servitude and which will become the embarassing story of choice at every and all family gatherings. Not that that's happened to me...

This little game is BIG trouble. HUGE I tell you. Especially for someone who has so much to do she doesn't know where to start......

Is it wrong when I post 3 times a day???

I need Stephs' help again - you know how it works. If I have homework - YOU have homework. heh heh.
This week - design a box - the size of a jello box. I decided it is Minou's turn and took a picture of some leftover cookies from 3 dog bakery. But now I need a little tag line - you know like M&M's have "melt in your mouth not in your hand"
So here is what we have so far...
Minou's cookies
I have two assignments this week so in the meantime I will start the next one.
I was bad yesterday.
Angie and I went to Seattle - I had some returns to do at J.Crew for my show.
In the mall downtown there is a Tiffany's right beside J.Crew. Heh heh. Do you know where this is going?

Now don't get me wrong there is a Tiffany's or two in Vancouver and I have gone inside. But I have never stayed to long for fear that the security guards could scan my bank accounts and credit cards though my purse and have me promptly escorted from the building when they realize I am never going to be able to make a purchase in their store.

This time Angie and I talked to the salepeople.

OOPS.

Once again let me reiterate a previous post.
I AM NOT ENGAGED. THERE IS NO DATE FOR A WEDDING. Aside from my own blabbling - THERE HAS BEEN NO DISCUSSION ABOUT UPCOMING NUPTIALS WITH THE DICTATOR.

The saleslady showed us many pretty rings. We discussed the prices. Angie commented on a nice one and the next thing we knew we were holding a $20,000 ring in our hands. heh heh heh. Oops. It was pretty. We put it down as it was scary. Then Angie picked out another one. (She is the devil incarnate when it comes to shopping - have I ever mentioned that before? A terrible influence on my bank account.) This one was smaller and had a much nicer price tag. Only $9000.
It had the highest rating in color - a D, it was .75 carats, it was nearly flawless (can't quite remember the actual number on the scale) It sparkled real pretty. The lady said we had to try it on to see if it even suited our hands. Angie made me do it. It is all her fault. I put it on and it fit, then the lady got out a mirror and even made me hold my hand up to look at it from a distance. It was sparkly. I've noticed that tiffany diamonds are WAY more sparkly then other diamonds? Anyone else noticed this phenomenon??? Sigh. Anyways it was nice.

So yah. We brought home a little book for the dictator and I left it on his pillow last night. Real subtle eh?
Outside of Birdie's BrochureInside of brochure
Here is Birdie's brochure for her ever expanding empire. I hope she realizes how much work it is to run a business. It isn't all naps and petting all the time.....

I am busy with work and school. Feeling a little stressed out these days. One more week until the show goes into the theatre and I still have so much to do.....

Allergies are kicking - time to get some meds. Ahhhh spring is in the air!!!!!!!!!!!!!
