It is my favourite girl's birthday today.
HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY MINOU!!!!

Reasons why I love Minou:
1. She waits up for me every night no matter how long I stay on the computer or how late I stay out with friends
2. She is always up for a nap in the middle of the afternoon
3. She is clumsy and accident prone - JUST LIKE ME!
4. She doesn't like pickles
5. She looks good in pink
6. I love the way she tucks her little pink nose under her back legs and sleeps rolled up in a little ball
7. She likes to sleep in until at least 10:00am everyday
8. She understands every word I say to her
9. Minou loves everyone and will often try and get into strangers cars because she thinks she knows them
10. There are people who know Minou that I have never even heard of
11. She gonna be a famous actor as soon as her movie is released
12. She loves me on days when I feel super crappy and sad
13. She loves me on days when I feel super happy!
14. I love how when she sees me at the door she wags her tail so hard it looks like her body will split in two
15. She always sleeps in between my feet - every single night for the last 5 years, I can't sleep without her there
16. I love how she lets me torment her with new clothes and silly cuddling
17. I love that her favourite toy is a baboon twice her size from the value village in Dartmouth. Probably the only toy the dictator has ever bought for her
18. I love her big brown eyes - truly sad puppy dog eyes.
19. She knows when I am feeling sick and makes the perfect hot water bottle.
20. She knows the timer on the stove going off means the cookies are done and will cry until she gets one.
21. She always comes to the bathroom with me - weird, maybe even creepy but hey how many of you have someone to talk to while you are on the throne.
22. I love that she is so tiny and she works - without batteries or anything! She is the smartest and loves with all of her heart. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!!!!!

Minou here is hoping we have another 20 years together! And yes - you can have cake for supper..... MWAH BABY MIN MIN!!!! Greenies and kisses for you!!!

It was a BEAUTIFUL day today. Think I got a sunburn. Hung out with Angie in the am outside of starbucks and at the park, puttered in my 'garden', fell asleep in the yard with Birdie, walked to Pajos for supper with the dictator, walked home and now I am pooped. Took a few pictures - mostly after the sun started to go down but I think you will get the idea...

PROCRASTINATING

Should have gone to the gym this morning.
BUT (I have all kinds of excuses) I still have my cold in the form of a horrible death cough. Really phelgmy and nasty sounding. And I got my stupid period last night.

Normally I take my incredible miracle prescription to fight off the cramps and I keep going - however I still usually feel pretty horrible and the prescription makes me 'out of it' in a big way. I don't like taking it. Without it though I am to much pain for anything. But since I have been off caffeine for almost a month I decided to see what kind of an effect it would have. (I have heard it could help) So far no cramps. It is too good to be true. And I am paranoid that it is too good to be true so I am scared to leave the house or even take my pjs off. (Steph suggested bringing the pill with me but I need to take it with a full meal or I puke my guts out so that doesn't really work all the time) So I will sit it out a few more hours and see what happens. I like the idea of it working however I really miss all the caffeine and chocolate. I miss coca cola, green tea lattes and chocolate bars.........

Anyways. I have all kinds of little projects I should be doing... I'm just not really doing anything.... I did have work the last 3 days but it is over now... Back to EI. To bad it isn't sunny out.

What does everyone think of the name 'Angela' for a boy? I think it is Fabulous! heh heh

i feel horrible.
I did shower this morning and get dressed but I soon went back into pjs and a housecoat.
I crawled up on the couch and the girls crawled with me - right into my housecoat. And they stayed there when I stood up, when I went downstairs, when I went to check my email, when I went back to the couch and so on and so forth. They only recently hopped out after about 3 hours of me carrying them around like that.
I told luc I had new love handles but after seeing the picture it is more like saggy boobs. Ahh a glimpse of the future. hee hee.



Anyhoo. It is just a cold that everyone has been passing around - it was only a matter of time before it was my turn. It is a good weekend to be sick. My dad is gone, it is cold outside, and I have no stressful assignments or work to be done for monday. I think I will just 'enjoy' this cold and spend it on the couch in front of the fire and tv with my puppies and sweetheart.

It is 10:15pm. Not that late but definitely past my bedtime. Waiting for Dad to arrive. He didn't leave Calgary until 3:00pm and it is a 10 hour drive... We will just see what time he gets here...
Bathroom is ALMOST done. ALMOST. A few bits left to do that will have to wait until dad is gone. There is still some tiling along the wall around the sink, the hot water doesn't work (leaking), and I want a shelf under the sink that still needs to be done. But overall I am really happy - it is so much nicer and fresh looking.

Finally got the girls to pose in their hoodies - they are thrilled as always.

If anyone wants to be REAL proud of me I have been teaching myself dreamweaver. I was only getting so far fooling around so today I did the unimaginable. I went to the library and got a BOOK! Then not only did I take it home I read a few pages in it. UNBELIEVABLE.
I have finally figured out how to control where things are on the page and how to do roll overs with the mouse. UNBELIEVABLE. it only took me all afternoon.....
It isn't pretty but I am getting there....

Well. It is a little different now.
I asked Luc if he would buy me some paint and new mirror and a new light. We have dreams of gutting the whole thing but I thought a little surface cosmetic work could go a long way.
My first mistake was asking Luc.
We went to ikea to pick out a mirror and light.

Tonight there is actually some progress being made. My dad is arriving on Wed so there was an original deadline of Wed but I was starting to lose hope.
I think I may be able to stop washing my hands in the tub soon! YIPPEE!

The girls will miss their new spot to get warm. The work light gives off alot of heat and I caught the two of them alone in the bathroom lying as close as they could to it right on the floor. For those of you who don't know what a big deal that is - they won't even SIT on the floor unless there is some kind of carpet. They also have real issues being in a room without a person within 3 feet.


Been stressed out about the amount of work lately - or should I say lack of work. I am meeting with EI people about a grant to go back to school fulltime in the fall. I like the idea of school fulltime but I don't like the idea of what year with no income could do to us financially. It would have been nice to save up a little money before deciding to go back to school. I might get a job painting but I don't really want that to become my fulltime job to put myself through school for the next 5 years. I don't think my knees and shoulder will take it. Stress stress stress


Made the girls some hoodies the other day. Been buying the cute clothes at Joe at Superstore. Got these super duper terry cloth hoodies. People always think I just take them in but I don't - I actually cut them completely apart. I'll use a hem or seam where I can but I don't usually. n these ones I used the hood but still modified it. I usually sew them on my serger but it was at the serger doctor getting better.
I have no final pictures of their little hoodies - they wouldn't pose nice - eventually.

Got my haircut.
Remember that nightmare haircut I had in Jan? You don't? Oh that is funny - is it because I hated it so much I didn't take any pictures of it, didn't wear my hair down for 3 months? In fact no one knew I even had a cut... just the way I wanted it.
Anyways I have hated it everytime I look in the mirror so I finally chopped it all off. I wanted to wait to grow out the sides so it could be longer but it wasn't going to happen anytime soon...
Finally I can wear my hair down again without feeling like an idiot.......

Went to the new gym today - our rec centre just had a major makeover and it is all shiny and pretty. I tried out the 'wave' and the 'arc'. I can barely walk now. But it was fun - I'll go back tomorrow.

Oh you will all find this amusing...
I was in the middle of boot camp yesterday when I noticed something in my running tights. I pushed it with my finger hoping it wasn't dirty underwear, or even clean underwear.... It wasn't underwear. I thought it was a sock. I pulled it out and was about to show my triumph to the lady next to me so we could both have a giggle when I realized it was a pantyliner. ACK. I shoved it back in and waited for the next opportunity to rid myself of it. I have NOOO idea how it got there. Don't worry it was unused, I'm just not sure how it got to the knee of my running tights without me noticing........ Reason #1 to not get dressed at 5:30am.

Ok.. there came up with ten. It took me awhile - like we are talking involving a supper break.
Been teaching myself dreamweaver - gave my website a new look - need to finish it still but I think I like it. I hope I like it because it is online already. Dreamweaver is making it easier. I haven't figured everything out yet but I am getting there.

Not much else. Still pouring rain. It was pouring so hard we lost power the other night. I have lots of little projects to do - slowly getting myself motivated... sketches for a show, wearable art projects, make backyard pretty, paint bathroom..... etc etc etc...
So much to do so little motivation.....

I have time again... In theory LOTS of time and I like it that way.

The play is done. My homework is 3 minutes from being done - it is at the printers and I am picking it up tonight. My last class is tomorrow afternoon. I may have a job next week but right now that is still up in the air and I could care less if it happens or not - aside from the fact that I am broke. I did my taxes - well I took my taxes to the accountant - therefore I DID my taxes. Shredded all the bits I didn't need for recycling - I never shred things.... Whew. Now I am slowly cleaning the house and doing ALL the laundry. Still lots to do in that department but I am not in a rush and I have already accomplished quite a bit.

It is pouring rain outside and the girls are resting. If the sun comes out we will go for a walk.

YAY.....

I wish I could be unemployed forever, take classes and sew silly things for the wearable arts awards and the girls to wear. I've been buying t-shirts at superstore in the girls department to make t-shirts for my girls. I am addicted to Joe! They have great clothes for me and cute prints for Min Min and Brandine... I have a little pile waiting for me to cut up and make pretty. My serger is on the fritz though so I think I will take it in for some loving care before I make the t-shirts.
